***Congratulations to the Gr. 8 Girls’ Basketball Team. The Girls played VSS last night in League play and lost a close game 42 - 46. It was Shuswap’s best performance against VSS in four meetings this year. Way to go Girls!!! Reece Major led all scorers with 16 points, Keira Cadden had 11 pts and Vienne Bredick added 10 pts of her own. SMS plays VSS in our last League Game, at home, on Feb. 13th. Come out, cheer on Your Team and Support Your School!
***Congratulations to the Gr. 8 Girls Basketball Team! The Girls placed second in the VSS Tournament this past weekend losing to VSS in the Final 54 - 42. Kiera Cadden led SMS with 14 pts., Reece Major added 12 pts and Vienne Bredick chipped in 5 pts. In Shuswap’s first game on Friday night, the girls defeated Kalamalka from Vernon 43 - 24. Kiera Cadden led the way with 19 pts, while Reece Major had 15 pts and Vienne Bredick added 8 pts of her own. In Shuswap’s second game of the tournament, Shuswap defeated South Kamloops 35 - 22. Reece Major led all scorers with 12 pts, while Kiera Cadden added 8 pts of her own. Throughout the weekend, Shuswap played well, they improved every game, and increased their basketball IQ on the floor. Way to go Shuswap!!!

***Games for our Gr. 6/7 Basketball will begin this Tuesday, January 31, 2023, for our Gr. 6/7 Girls, and Wednesday, February 1, 2023, for our Gr. 6/7 Boys. I will post a schedule next weekend for February and March Games at SMS.
***We will be making teams this week in practice. I will also send a Team Fee Form home with our Athletes by the end of the week. Cost for our Basketball Program, for grades 6/7, is $15.00. Please wait for the form to be sent home before you pay. Thank you.
