Friday Extra Basketball Sessions for Gr. 7/8 Boys and Girls

Fridays, After School Basketball Extra Training/Games Sessions for Gr. 7 & 8 Girls and Boys. This is an optional program for our Basketball players. Reminder to those who play… If you want to get better at the game of basketball, then you need to put in the time and take advantage of extra opportunities that allow one to build skill and work on their game. If one want to creates “Magic” in the game of basketball, then they need to be willing to do the work that is required to build the mechanics that could eventually produce the “Magic”/skills/level of play that they are looking in the sport. Do the Work! Come and join Mr. Smith on Fridays after school to work on your game. The Program begins this coming Friday, January 6, 2023. 

*** Please note: Athletes who join the Friday Extra Basketball Sessions will need to listen to announcements each day and check this Blog and the Schedule on a regular basis. On Fridays where Mr. Smith is coaching (taking the Gr. 8 Girls’ Team to tournaments or hosting a tournament at SMS) the Sessions will be cancelled. 

Gr. 6/7 Girls and Boys Basketball Start Our First Week Back:

We are going to combine the Gr. 6’s and 7’s for basketball in the New Year. Please check the TABS above for more details. 

Gr. 6/7 Boys’ Basketball Practice … Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 2:45 to 4:15 + Wednesdays at Lunch 3on3 Basketball during Activity Time.

Gr. 6/7 Girls’ Basketball Practice… Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 7AM to 8:10AM + Tuesdays at Lunch 3on3 Basketball during Activity Time. 

Gr. 8 Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Practices Continue… Coaches are in contact with players and teams.

Gr. 8 Girl’s Basketball Team Host VSS and SKam on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in a mini tournament. Game times: 10 AM … SMS vs VSS … 11:30 VSS vs SKam… 2:00 SMS vs SKam… Bump Competition + Team Lay-up Competition + Team Shooting Competition will take place between 1 to 2 PM.
