WELCOME BACK… SMS ATHLETICS AFTER SPRING BREAK… APRIL 3RD TO APRIL 6TH…

 ***3/4 of our Outdoor Sport Courts are snow and ice free… I suggest students come and get an outdoor ball from Mr. Smith during Activity Time at Lunch and play half-court 3on3 or 4on4 on the Sport Courts… The Gym will be open on days where the weather doesn’t cooperate; however, on nice days, everyone needs to go outside and get some Vitamin D. 

***SMS Flag Football sign up and practice starts this week… See sign-up day and practice day below… This is a great opportunity for all athletes to develop skill and increase their physical literacy. Mr. Anderson, Mr. Neid, Mr. Henderson, and Mr. Smith will be coaching and running this program. 

***Spring Club Basketball opportunities in Salmon Arm … If interested, please see Mr. Smith in the PE Office for details. 

Monday, April 3rd:

*SMS Basketball Training Sessions (Practice and Games)… for Gr. 6 to 8 Girls and Boys … 7AM to 8:10AM … ***Because of our expected number, SMS students only, for now. If space permits, we will allow students from Jackson and Sullivan to attend in the future. 

*SMS Basketball Shooting Clinic … After School … from 2:45 to 4:00… Girls and Boys … Gr. 6 to 8

*Volleyball Club Training Session… We are Back! … 7AM to 8:10AM

*SMS FLAG FOOTBALL Sign-up… in the Gym during Activity Time at Lunch… Girls and Boys… Gr. 6 to 8…

Wednesday, April 5th:

*SMS Basketball Training Sessions (Practice and Games)… for Gr. 6 to 8 Girls and Boys … 7AM to 8:10AM

*SMS FLAG FOOTBALL Practice in the Gym, after school … NO PRACTICE TODAY… Our First Flag Football Session will be next Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 2:40 to 4:15

Thursday, April 6th:

*AM Open Gym … Volleyball or Basketball … Gr. 6 to 8 … Train and Play… Athlete guided and directed… with some help from Mr. Smith… Most important day of the week because it’s a opportunity for athletes to train on their own without adult interference… I just supervise and run the music… 

*SMS FLAG FOOTBALL will begin next Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 2:40 to 4:15
