PRO-D … NO SCHOOL … HOWEVER, if our Gr. 8 Girls’ Volleyball Team(s) advance to the League Finals on Monday, Nov. 14th, we will be practicing at 2:30 on Thursday, Nov. 10th.

***For All Families who children play Volleyball… I strongly recommend that you take a trip out to TRU (Thompson Rivers University), in Kamloops, to watch some fantastic volleyball action. UBCO is another good destination; however, I promote TRU since Head Coach (Women’s Volleyball) comes to SA to put on a volleyball camp. His program helped our SMS Volleyball Program raise $700 this year.

When my two boys were younger, my wife and I would take them to both TRU and UBCO to watch both volleyball and basketball games. We would walk around and tour the campuses, and then watch some fantastic sports. This year, at TRU, both the women’s and men’s teams are outstanding. During the weekend of Nov 25th/26th, both teams host the University of Saskatchewan Huskies… The women play at 5:30 (Fri) and 3:00 (Sat), while the men play at 7:15 (Fri) and 4:45 (Sat). Watching sports at the university level and touring campuses creates dreams for young minds and may inspire our athletes to keep working hard with a different kind of focus. Just an idea… It’s how I chased my dreams and made them come true when I played QB for the UofA Golden Bears, and it’s how my son realized his dreams coming true, as he now plays basketball for the TRU WolfPack. Dreams start somewhere and it’s always fun to dream. One never knows… If you don’t chase your dreams… then … how can they become possibilities.
