Gr. 6/7 Girls’ Basketball Practices:
- Tuesdays, after school, from 2:45 to 4:00 … Reminder, No Tuesday practices every second Tuesday due to Staff Meetings.
- Thursday Mornings, 7 AM to 8:10 AM
- Gr. 7 Girls Optional Training/Game Sessions, on Fridays, after school, from 2:40 to 4:00 … This session will be open to Gr. 8 Girls and Boys, as well as, Gr. 7 Girls and Boys.
Gr. 8 Girls’ Basketball Practices:
- Wednesday Mornings, from 7 AM to 8:10 AM
- Thursdays, after school, from 2:45 to 4:15
- NEW… Fridays, after school, from 2:40 to 4:00 … Training/Game Sessions for Gr. 8 Girls and Boys; as well as, Gr. 7 Girls and Boys…

***Gr. 8 Girls’ Basketball Practices (Tryouts) begin the week of Nov. 14 to 18, 2022. Practice #1 will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, from 7 AM to 8:10 AM, and the second Practice will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM. All girls interested need to attend.
Tryout Dates:
Nov. 17th - 7 AM to 8:10 AM
Nov. 18th - 2:45 to 4:00
Nov. 23rd - 7 AM to 8:10 AM
Nov. 24th - 2:45 to 4:15
Nov. 25th - 2:45 to 4:15
Please note that any girls who commit to our practice and game schedule, and adhere to the Standards and Core Values of our Program, will not be excluded and/or cut from our Basketball Program. We are running two Programs for our Gr. 8 Girls this year - An In-House Program (for Gr. 7’s and 8’s) and a Zone/Regional Program (for Gr. 8’s only). Our In-House Program will be for the Gr. 8’s who are not selected to play on the Regional/Zone Team. The In-House Program will be a development program that allows our athletes to improve their skills, improve as basketball players, and grow as athletes. Players in this program will practice twice per week and play once per week. At the end of the season, SMS will hold a large Jamboree that our In-House athletes/teams will participate in. Those athletes who commit to our program, Standards, and Core Values will be invited to compete in the tournament.
Our In-House Program Schedule:
Tuesdays: After School 2:45 to 4:15 (Gr. 7/8 Girls In-House Program)
Lunch Time: 1on1 to begin … then … 3on3
Thursdays: 7AM to 8:10 AM (Gr. 7/8 Girls In-House Program)
Our Regional/Zone Team/Program Schedule:
Mondays: Practices until League Games begin = 4:30 to 6:00 … Games = Looking at possibly two games every Monday night once we start league play… Schedule still needs to be made.
Tuesdays: Lunch Time: 1on1 to begin … then… 3on3
Wednesdays: Practice 7 AM to 8:10 AM
Thursdays: Practice after school 2:45 to 4:15
Once the Girls have been selected for both Programs, information and more details will be sent home about cost, schedules, tournaments, etc.
